Color Printers & Photocopiers

April 24, 2008 · Leave a Comment

The Library has installed new printers and photocopiers on the main level, in the stacks, and in the Learning Resources Center (LRC). The machines located in the Electronic Resources area behind the Information Desk and the LRC are both a printer and copier. The machines will copy or print in color if the original is in color. The machines also act as scanners. Articles can be scanned into a .PDF, jpeg, or tiff format. Users can e-mail any of these formats to their Loyola e-mail account. In order to provide our users with color printing/copying and scanning capabilities, the cost of printing is now $.10 a page. If you have any questions about printing/copying, please contact Jan at 6-9192 or jbehnke@lumc.edu

Faculty Publications Database

April 16, 2008 · Leave a Comment

The Health Sciences Library is pleased to announce the launch of its Faculty Publications Database (http://tinyurl.com/4lfhbs). Using RefWorks, a database has been created that consists of articles, books and book chapters written by Faculty from SSOM, Niehoff School of Nursing, the Graduate School and other Institutes here at the Medical Center. The citations, culled from Medline, Cinahl, and other databases are fully searchable by many fields including author, title, descriptor and department.

The Faculty Publications Database was developed by the librarians as a value-added service to:

· increase awareness of faculty research

· enhance communication amongst the Medical Center community

· promote LUMC research throughout the larger Jesuit Medical School community.

The database currently contains journal articles from January 2007-January 2008, along with books and book chapters. Ultimately, the database will include publications from 2003 to the present.

The Faculty Publications Database is a work in progress. We do not purport to be all inclusive. Therefore, we are asking that all Faculty supply us with a CV or other list of publications so that we make the database as comprehensive as possible. Please email us at ResearchServices@lumc.edu for any additions or comments.
