Mobile MedlinePlus®

National Library of Medicine® (NLM®) has recently released a mobile version of MedlinePlus. This new service provides health information for the growing audience of mobile Internet users by optimizing MedlinePlus and MedlinePlus en español for display on mobile devices.

Note that Mobile MedlinePlus is a mobile Web site, not a mobile “app” (application).  NLM developed a mobile Web site to reach as broad an audience as possible and to be usable on a variety of devices.  It is available in English and Spanish and includes a subset of content from the full Web site. It also features:

  • summaries for over 800 diseases, conditions and wellness topics
  • latest health news
  • illustrated medical encyclopedia
  • information on thousands of prescription and over-the-counter medications
  • the search engine is powered by Vivísimo, the same technology behind the search on MedlinePlus

Visit Mobile MedlinePlus in English at http://m.medlineplus.gov and in Spanish at http://m.medlineplus.gov/spanish.

Now Available! RSS Feed for Loyola Faculty Publications

Interested in seeing what new publications have been written by Loyola Faculty?  Go to the Faculty Publications Database, and click on the RSS image to sign up for the RSS feed;  you will be able to view the latest 20 entries into the Faculty Pubs database on a regular basis.

RSS Faculty Publications

Using Refworks, a database has been created that consists of articles, books and book chapters written by Faculty from SSOM, Niehoff School of Nursing, the Graduate School and other Institutes here at the Medical Center. The citations, culled from Medline, Cinahl, and other databases are fully searchable by many fields including author, title, descriptor and department.

The Faculty Publications Database was developed by the librarians as a value-added service to:

  • increase awareness of faculty research
  • enhance communication amongst the Medical Center community
  • promote LUMC research throughout the larger Jesuit Medical School community.

The database currently contains journal articles from January 2003 to present, along with books and book chapters.

The Faculty Publications Database is a work in progress. We do not purport to be all inclusive. Therefore, we are asking that all Faculty supply us with a CV or other list of publications so that we make the database as comprehensive as possible. Please email us at ResearchServices@lumc.edu for any additions or comments.
